"I had had a history of repeated dental infections over many years involving both soft and hard tissues. I had acquired a complex of bridgework and dental crowns, which with passing of time were crumbling and unstable. I dreaded what I considered to be the near inevitability of dental plates. My husband, who is a physician, encouraged me to look into the possibility of dental implants and I am very glad that I took his advice. When I was referred to Hamed Karimi my one concern was that I would not be a suitable candidate for implant treatment. My fears were groundless and the nature of the treatment process was clearly explained to me and I was accepted as a patient.

I elected to have treatment to the whole of my upper jaw. The process of putting the implants in place was done under local anaesthesia. The staff under the direction of Dr Karimi were friendly, supportive and very competent. The procedure took about two hours as I recall. It was no more uncomfortable than any other dental procedure I had experienced in the past. There was a modest but tolerable amount of post operative discomfort which was easily controlled with mild analgesics. The implants established themselves without problems and in a reasonable time the dental work was complete. The cosmetic effect and the function are excellent. A year or two has gone past and there have been no problems. I am careful to implement all the daily care which my hygienist has prescribed and which in any event is neither arduous, time consuming nor difficult. In every aspect, I am more than happy with the experience and with the result. Following the work on my upper jaw, I have had some implants in my lower jaw as well. That also went without a hitch and I am very pleased with the result.

A cynic has been described as someone who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing. In my case the treatment which I have had has been of inestimable value beside which the cost is quite irrelevant. I cannot bear to think what the alternatives would have been."

"Don’t be scared
Having implants, 6 in all, was one of the best decisions I have ever made.  Yes, costly and yes a bit scary but the end result far outweighed my concerns.

Pre-treatment
Norfolk Dental Specialists were totally professional and re-assuring from day one and all the staff made time for me.  The treatment was explained clearly and any of my concerns were discussed.

During Treatment
The pain encountered was minimal, honestly, and I found it helped to focus on the end result throughout.  I had some discomfort for the first week following treatment but not as bad as I had expected.  I didn’t even have any noticeable swelling!

Worst bits
For me, the worst part was wearing dentures whilst waiting for the implants to “bond”.  However, this only confirmed to me that I had no desire to wear them permanently and I had definitely made the right choice in having implants.

The fitting
Great care was taken throughout my treatment to ensure that the end result would be what I wanted.  Colour matching etc. was all carefully considered and on the final day – Great!  It felt a little strange for about a week or 10 days but I was just so delighted.

To summarise
For the cost of a couple of annual holidays, implants really can change your life.  Smile again with confidence and enjoy food!  Norfolk Dental Specialists after care is second to none – you are not forgotten once the treatment is done.
